10 year anniversary in NYC

I was lucky enough to spend a week in New York City with Jason for our Anniversary.  We had a fantastic time! We packed so much into a week.  NYC is such an awesome place. We had good weather...ate good food...and saw amazing things.  Here are a few pictures from the trip.

Central Park

Saw a Letterman Show taping
(Dr. Phil was one of the guests)

Top of the Empire State Building
(slightly overrated in my opinion)

City Bus Tour (one of the best things we did)  We were able to see Uptown, Downtown, Harlem, and Brooklyn.

9/11 Memorial
(so sad, but breathtaking & beautiful)

Yankee Stadium

Love you Derek Jeter.

Statue of Liberty, view from Staten Island Ferry

Views from The High Line (public park built on historic freight rail line elevated above the streets on Manhattan's West Side)....the only place that was quiet and peaceful in the city.

One World Trade Center (Freedom Tower)

We also saw Rock of Ages on Broadway,  rode the Subway A LOT, tried to avoid the chaos that is Times Square, people watched (hours and hours of cheap entertainment),  and ate LOTS of desserts (Magnolia Bakery YUM!)
We were happy to get home to be with the kids, but glad we had that time away.  Many thanks to our families for watching the kids while we were gone!

Easter 2012

The weekend before Easter we went to see my parents.  My mom celebrated a BIG birthday, so we wanted to spend time with her.  My grandma & Krista joined us for the festivities.

Happy birthday Nana E!
We love you!

Griff played some hoops while we were back home.  The hoop was a little tall for him, so he got a little help from Dad.
Channing just watched.

Basketball really wasn't her thing.  She was more interested in playing with my parent's dog.

We went to see the Easter Bunny.  No tears, but can you see the fear on Channing's face?
Not a fan.
Not a fan at all.

Griffin got glasses a few weeks ago.  Apparently he really needed them because we have not had any trouble with him keeping them on & he is amazed at how much bigger everything looks.  He even said "Mom, you look bigger."
Super.
Since Griff is wearing glasses full-time now, Channing feels she needs to wear them too.   She claims she can see a lot better with her Dora glasses.

Before church on Easter morning, we hid a few eggs around the house.

I didn't go overboard on the candy. The grandparents take care of that.

Channing fell over with excitement when she found this egg.

The kiddos ready for church.

We tried hard to get a good picture of all 4 kids.
Their expressions crack me up.

Easter Egg Hunt!

Channing was so excited that Nana B stuffed her eggs with Tootsie Rolls.

Griffin was so nice helping his sister find her eggs.

The three kids & their eggs.

Happy Easter!
