Easter 2010

Last year we thought Griff was scared of the Easter Bunny....this year he was TERRIFIED!!!!  It is crazy to think that I was just a smidgen pregnant in that picture above & now we have this beautiful little girl!

Channing will be 4 months old this week.  We did away with the swaddling about 4 nights ago.  It was a little rough at first, but she's adjusting well.  The past 2 nights she's gone to sleep without even a whimper.  She's still not sleeping through the night, but it is so nice to not have to worry about the swaddling!

After being traumatized by the bunny at the rec center, we took Griff to the park for the Easter egg hunt.

Griff found is limit of 5.  They wanted things to be fair, so each kid could only "find" 5 eggs.  The ground was covered with eggs, so it really wasn't much of a challenge.  Griffin had a blast nontheless.  He had to open each egg as he found it to see what was inside.
More candy.
Great.

He spotted his pal Tate in the park & posed nicely for this photo.  Can't believe how big the boys are getting!

This morning he checked out his Easter basket here at home.  Momma emptied her wallet last night & filled up them eggs with change.  Luckily Griff (and obviously Channing) can't tell the difference between the coins.
Lots-o-pennies kids.

Nana & Papa B. had their own Easter egg hunt today.

Cousins Drew & Kati assisted.

Excellent.
More Candy.
Nothing better than a 2 year old hopped up on sugar.

Happy Easter Everyone!

A little song & a little dance

Just a few videos of the kiddos. Griff loves to sing to Channing....Channing is starting to sing back. I also got her giggling today & had to post it. Nothing better than hearing your little ones laugh.

We've been trying to keep Griff in his bed at night. We've stayed strong & not let him sleep with us for more than a week now, but we had to resort to bribery to keep him out of our bed. Every morning he gets a present if he stays in his bed all night long. Thank goodness for the Target $1 section & Griffin's love for cheap junk. Tonight he asked if he could have a football if he stayed in bed. I said sure thing kiddo---then he proceeded to ask if he could also have a dress. What am I going to do with this kid?

Randomness & an S.O.S.

 Go Cubs Go!
Thank goodness she's a Cubs fan
...we might have had to give her back.

A while back Griff had a biting problem.  It wasn't like he was taking chunks out of people...and we weren't concerned he was turning into a vampire..... he would just get angry (usually if someone took his toys away) and sank his teeth into the first thing he saw.  We had numerous talks about not biting.  We bought books & made him repeat this little phrase every day before going to daycare...."no biting, no kicking, no hitting, no pushing".  Today as I was telling him goodbye & reminding him to be a good boy at daycare (the kid hasn't been biting for months...thank goodness), Griff says to me "no biting, no kicking, no hitting, no pushing, and NO GUNS."
Glad we've got that covered.

So, blogger changed on me a bit.  I'd like to upload some videos, but I can't seem to figure out how.  Anyone else run into this problem?  I'm not diggin' the new set up.  I also gave up candy today and am feeling a bit irritated.  I need to get off this blog before I throw the computer on the floor.  Seriously, how do I upload videos?  HELP.

Puppy Love

Today Casey invited us out to see the puppies. Griff loved the little pups. But thankfully not enough to beg for me to bring one home. We have enough chaos in this house, definitely don't need to add anymore right now. They sure are cute though!
B & Griff had a good time together. B showed us his farm animals. We saw the sheep & the baby lambs. We also got to see the cows.
It would be great to live on a farm.  Who am I kidding?! I'm a city gal. I couldn't survive one day of chores. We'll just go visit Casey & B when we need our farm fix.
It was hard to get Griff to leave. He loved following B around.
Thanks Casey & B--we had a great time on the farm!

Invasion of Thomas The Train

Since the weather took a turn for the worse & we are AGAIN cooped up inside, I decided to pull out Griff's Thomas tent....partly because I needed to get a little cleaning done, also because once in awhile I need to tend to my other child, and maybe because Momma wanted to blog a bit.
Selfish, I know.
Don't judge.
Just so you know, Channing is napping right now & Griff is sitting next to me getting Doritos crumbs all over my clean kitchen floor. So, I'm not really ignoring my children.

The train is perfect for our basement, but might be a tad bit large for the upstairs.

Who cares, the kid is in heaven.

Last night Griff had his first ice cream sandwich. (I know, wow, I feed my kid healthy foods....again, don't judge.) Many would say it really isn't ice cream weather, but in our house, it is ice cream weather all year round.

When I took this picture it hadn't started to snow yet. Unfortunately when we woke up this morning the ground was covered with the white stuff.

I've been noticing lately that Griff writes....ok, more like scribbles, with his left hand. He holds his eating utensils with his right hand & I've seen him hold the baseball bat & golf club with both. Might have an ambidextrous kid on our hands.

Griff has really started to love his sister. He likes to read to her & can't go to bed at night without giving her a kiss.

He LOVES books.
He's quite partial to Thomas The Train books, Good Night Moon, Big Red Barn, & The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
Channing loves to sit in her exersaucer. She's starting to move around more & rolling to her side & loving it. She still needs to be swaddled at night, eating like a little piggy, & is no where close to sleeping through the night. We are practicing some tough love with Griff. Since we brought Channing home from the hospital we have been doing the terrible thing of pulling him into our bed when he wanders into our room in the night. Dumb move on our part, but hey, you do what ya gotta do to get some sleep. We've recently decided that the 30lb kid is taking up too much room in our queen sized bed. Either we invest in a king size bed, or the kid sleeps in his own room. We decided to go the least expensive route & are working with Griff to get him to stay in his room at night. Based on the bags under Hubs' & my eyes, you might say that things aren't going great. It has been a rough few nights, but we're certain it will pay off in the long run.

I keep telling myself that one of these nights we will ALL sleep through the night. Please send us some good sleep vibes. We could use all the help we can get!

Nana & Papa B. Love

One of Griff's favorite things to do with Papa B. is pony rides. Papa seems to enjoy the pony rides too.
One of Channing's favorite things to do with Nana is stare & smile at her. Nana seems to enjoy staring and smiling also.

Channing's Baptism

Hey, hey--as promised
Lots-o-pics
Channing Grae Becker was baptised today at St. Paul's United Methodist Church by Pastor James Parks. I'm not very pleased with this picture from the church, Channing's hiding under the blanket. It was nap time & the girl needs to be swaddled.
