We've been busy doing a little of this, and a little of that this summer. The kids are having a ton of fun and it is amazing how much they have grown and changed over the last few months. Earlier this summer Little Papa took Griffin fishing. Channy tagged along & enjoyed watching brother attempt to catch fish.
Griff caught his first fish--but he had NO interest in touching it. Worms are OK to touch....fish, not so much.
We have spent some time at our local swimming pool. Channing is my brave little fish. She absolutely loves the water.
Griffin has started putting his face in the water--which is a HUGE step. He starts swimming lessons with Little Papa next week. Griff says he is going to start putting his head under water so he can go off the diving board and down the big slide. Sure.
A couple of weeks ago we met my family in Des Moines. We spent a lot of time in the hotel swimming pool (the weather was terrible so we didn't get to the zoo like we had originally planned)
We were so happy that Krista, Kelly & Dustin were able to make it.
The kids had fun playing with Big Papa & Nana E.
Channing had her 18 month check in early June.
Here are the little peanut's stats:
Height 31.5 in (60%)
Weight 22lb (20%)
Head 18.5 in (60%)
We have to take her back in 3 months to have her weighed again. Her Dr. wants to make sure she is growing OK. We think she is just perfect, so we have NO worries. She is a petite thing, but she is constantly on the move trying to keep up with big brother--so it is hard to keep meat on those bones.
No summer would be complete without Griff getting a nasty bug bite on his ear. This picture doesn't do the bite justice. His ear was ginormous, red & hot. Thankfully it resolved after a couple of days.
4th of July this year was a blast. Williamsburg had "kid's day" in the park. There were inflatables, games, face painting, balloon animals, a dunk tank & lots of food. Griffin had such a good time. Nana B. was so kind to stand in line for at least 45 minutes in order for Griff to get his face painted. Griff decided on Spiderman.
Channy & Griff waiting for the parade to start.
Well worth the 45 min. wait!
Thanks Nana!
Jason had one of his company's tractors in town for the parade. Griff thought it was so cool & loved riding in it.
Griff and Owen share a love for farm equipment.
Channing, not so much.
She could have cared less--but she did sit nicely for this picture.
These two love playing with each other & get along really well (most days).
Channing and Owen get along really well also. I'm so happy Channy & Griff are going to be close with their cousins. We will get to meet Owen's baby brother or sister sometime around Christmas!!!

Channy & Nana B. watching the parade go by.
Great Papa & Great Nana Y. came down for the festivities.
It turned out to be a gorgeous day.
We had a wonderful 4th of July with friends and family. Channy didn't stay up for the W'burg fireworks, but this little man didn't want to miss them.

the tractor tire pics of the kids are ADORABLE!
I can't believe I haven't run into you guys yet this summer! I'm sure Henry and Griff will have a blast this fall in preschool... or they'll be "partners in crime" ;-)
Wow...your family sure has grown...well, except for Channy, I guess! What a little thing! Be happy that she's a girl and petite and not the other way around! I love all of your photos (minus the nasty bug bite- WOW!) You need to post the second half of your summer now! Take Care!
