A Nice Little Saturday

Looksee what Momma's drivin' home Monday!
I'm gettin' a new ride!
Hubs cleaned out my Trailblazer this afternoon
& we're trading that ole thing in
on Monday when we pick up my new pretty.
With our family growing,
it was time for a larger vehicle.
Speaking of growing....so is my belly.
I feel like I've been neglecting the little sweetie.
Life is so busy with Bubs,
I sometimes forget to take time
to enjoy the feeling of life moving
& growing inside of me.
I had an appointment with my OB last Wednesday.
Got on the scale
(no weight lecture, was told I was right on track)
((i wish they let you pee before you got on the scale...i bet i'd weigh like 6 pounds lighter))
Peed in the cup
(nice healthy urine sample, 6 pounds worth)
Heard the heartbeat...a strong 136 beats per minute
(Dr. thinks it might be another boy)
Ultrasound scheduled for July 21
Guess we'll find out then if Dr. is right
Yes, I'm one of them that can't wait
until baby pops out to find out the sex
I HAVE to know.
I'm a planner.
Hello people, I need to know how to decorate!
After naps today we hit the golf course.
I golfed the best round of my life.
I think Bubs was my good luck charm.
And maybe not having time
to over-analyze my swing helped.
Although it isn't apparent from the above picture,
Bubs did have a GREAT time at the course.
He's ridiculously fond of pink golf balls, sand traps,
holding golf tees dangerously close to his eyes,
attempting somersaults on hole 8 green,
& running down the fairways away from Daddy.
I'm fairly certain this is exactly how
Tiger started his golfing career.

Here Comes The Sun

Saturday turned out to be a beautiful day. It was nice & hot, perfect for a dip in the pool. Hubs put all of his hot air to good use & blew up Bub's alligator pool.

Bubs wasn't quite sure about the pool at first.....

and the water was pretty chilly......

But as soon as we put some toys in the pool, he was ready to play.

Bub's is showing off his huge muscles in the picture below
.....oh, and his juice gut.

Sunday Bubs had his first freeze pop
& first run through the sprinkler.

I think he got more of it on his chest & belly than in his mouth.

He was too chicken to run through the sprinkler on his own, so I ran through with him. I warn you, please put on your sunglasses--my pasty white thighs are blinding. Yikes!

We had Grandma & Grandpa B. & Keith & Rach over for supper last night. Of course Grandma & Grandpa B. couldn't come over empty-handed. Bubs got another unnecessary toy.
I think he liked the box the best.

We had a great weekend.....minus the flooding, minus losing power several times & no wireless internet for a couple of hours last night (eek!), & minus not being able to spend time with my Dad on Father's Day. We were extremely lucky because some of our friends REALLY had bad weekends dealing with
soggy basements & car accidents.

Thank goodness everyone is OK.
It makes me very thankful for how
good we really do have it.

We are blessed.

Floods of 2009??!!

It rained for about an hour this afternoon.
ONE stinkin' hour
& look at what resulted
from this one hour of rain........
Flood of 2009 in Williamsburg.
5 inches of rain fell in 1 hour.
All the water you see in these pictures is NOT supposed to be there.

Hubs picked up Bubs during the torrential downpour
& I was driving home from work.
Not fun.
Not fun at all.
But at least we weren't bailing water out of our basement.

Luckily we live high up on a hill.
Almost all of the entrances into Williamsburg were flooded tonight.
Yeah, we were those annoying people driving around gawking at all the poor people watching water creep up their backyards & watching people pull saturated carpet out of their basements.
& what is up with those parents that let their children play in flood waters?
I didn't take pictures of the innocent children frolicking in the water, but what the heck are their parents thinking?
Chemicals from the fields,
raw sewage backing up from the sewers,
dangerous debris floating in the muddy water....yeah, that's safe.
MORONS!
Here are a few pictures from the back of our house.
All that standing water means lots-o-mosquitoes.

Poor Bubs doesn't need more bites.

He's covered head to toe with nasty red oozing bumps from those little blood suckers.
But he don't care!

Hopefully we have some dry days in the forecast!

Small & Easy Projects

OK, so the landscaping project was NOT easy, but watching Hubs put the caps on the retaining wall blocks on Saturday was. I didn't have to lift a finger for that one--except maybe to point & tell him where a cap didn't look level. Well, maybe he did get another finger when we were in the process of getting the caps at Menards & the baby & I were ready to eat my arm. I've noticed I'm overly irritable when I get hungry these days. WARNING: DO NOT DELAY FEEDING THE PREGNANT WOMAN!Remember this little chair? Sitting where my future buffet will be living? While I wait patiently for my buffet, I felt that the chair needed a lil sumptin sumptin. I used some scrapbook paper & Mod Podge and prettied it up.
Sorry about the glare....I purchased the shiny Mod Podge on accident.
Since I had the decoupage itch, I decided to give my 'memories' sign a face lift.
This is the wall you see when you walk in from our laundry room. I have such a hodgepodge of picture frames, but I kind of like that they don't all match. I might try to do all black & white photos in these frames at some point.
This project took a little more time than the chair because I had to cut up all the scrapbook pieces & glue them individually.
The picture doesn't really do it justice, but I think it looks really cute in person. I love what a little scrapbook paper & Mod Podge can do! Inexpensive & super easy!
Not much else accomplished this weekend....besides playing some golf, hanging with friends, spending some time with my sister, attending our book club meeting & walking in the Cancer Walk. No wonder the weekends fly by--they are always jam-packed with activities! I'm so excited because I've figured out what I'm going to be doing for Bub's big boy room. I hit Hobby Lobby with my MIL on Friday and found some great things. I now have the majority of the decor--just need to get the big boy bed & bedding. We'll be tackling that project & the toy room sometime in the next few months. Can't wait!

Conversation with a (almost) 21 month old

So, this video is a bit on the long & slightly boring side. It is a whole lot of me talking & very little of Bubs. I apologize in advance. At the request of my little sis in Nebraska, who wanted to see more of her nephew, I shot a little interview with Bubs over dinner. The kid jabbers and jabbers all day long, but if you throw a camera or a phone in his face, mums the word. I had to prompt everything he said tonight---but at least you can get a good feel for what he likes to eat & drink, who he likes to play with at daycare & who/what he really loves. Pretty sure he'd trade the whole family for a damn tractor or lawnmower.
