Turkey's Still Cookin'

Not much to say.
Still pregnant.
Lots of contractions today, but think they might be letting up. Hubs told everyone we would be having a November baby. Thanks for jinxing me babe.
Bags are packed.
AGAIN, legs are shaved.
I'm SO ready.

Griff is obsessed with lining things up. Cars, tractors, pillows, you name it. Please tell me this is "normal". And OMG, if you disrupt the line-up---watch out for the wrath of Griffin. Geez, I was just trying to take his picture & he was ready to give me the what for!

He's so excited for his baby sister to come.....OK, he's so excited for the baby to come so he can get his presents we've been promising him. I think he'll be a great big brother.....as long as baby respects & appreciates his OCD tendencies...and keeps her tiny little mitts off of his tractors!

Can't wait to share the name....we've finally made a decision.

For real this time.

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

Tonight I worked on getting the house ready for Christmas. I have a lot more decorations, but I want to keep things simple this year. It seems weird having the Christmas tree up & we haven't even celebrated Thanksgiving yet. I'm really into gold. I do think the mantel needs a little more color, but this is how it will look this holiday season. I'm excited to get a picture of both of the kids with Santa this year. I already have a pretty Christmas dress purchased for the new little one.

My MIL gave me the gold nativity scene. I LOVE it!
And here's the tree. I think I about gave Hubs a heart attack when I was standing up on the ladder decorating the top of the tree. It still needs a little work--but I think the house is pretty much ready for Christmas.
Next up.....wrapping presents

Weekend Review

Saw It.
Loved It.
Will purchase the DVD.
But I think I've switched sides.
Go team Jacob!
I really need to re-read the books to find my love for Edward again. Taylor Lautner did an outstanding job in this movie....& KStew--you did work on your acting skillz. Bravo. Edward, my love, you were the one that needed a little work in this movie. Don't get me wrong, still lovn' you, but Jacob just pulled ahead a little.
Mark your calenders
Twilight Saga Lovers
Eclipse 6.30.10
Can't wait!

My parents came to see little man (oh, and me & Hubs) on Saturday. Griff really had been missing "Big Papa", Nana & Riley. Not quite sure why Griff calls my dad "Big Papa" & my FIL "Little Papa"--but as long as he doesn't pull that with the Grandmas--things will be fine.

I was happy to have spent the weekend with friends & family.
I have a lot to be thankful for.

Baby Girl Update

Saw the Dr. today. Still dilated at 1cm. 25% effaced. Not much progress....which actually is GREAT! I've got plans to see New Moon on Sunday with some girlfriends & I want baby to hold off just a little longer. I was actually in a movie theater with my sister-in-law when I first started having contractions the night I went to the hospital to have Griffin. So.....maybe after I see the movie & hit a Mexican restaurant Sunday afternoon, this baby will be ready to come out! Oh, hey Spiderman,
if you see my son,
please tell him it is bedtime!

HipNCozy

So a few posts ago I was complaining about the infant carrier not being girlie enough....well problem solved! I found this cute little infant carseat cover online today at hipncozy.com
I showed Hubs & he was all for me purchasing it. I think Daddy has already started spoiling his little girl!
I never used to be a pink/lavender lover, but this girlie stuff is really growing on me. Hubs loves it too...(maybe even more than me)

I'm still here!

Nope, haven't popped yet. Getting darn close though. Hips & pelvis hurting, reflux kicking my butt, only have 3 pairs of pants that fit (only 2 that are work appropriate), I get short of breath singing Griff one round of The Wheels on The Bus book (pathetic!), can't get on the floor to "play cars", pretty sure the hemorrhoid from Griff's birth has made another appearance....too much info? BUT, one good thing is that I still have ankles! So, the timing isn't spectacular, but I guess we're just gonna go with it. Griff is in the middle of being potty trained at daycare. He's shown an interest & is lovin' wearing
his "underwears'" (pull-ups). If we get to daycare & he's sporting a sticker on his shirt, that means it was a good potty day. But, things are progressing VERY slowly. And to be honest, I really don't have the patience right now to work on it. With a new baby coming & tax season around the corner for Hubs, two kids in diapers doesn't sound that bad.
Tonight Griff wanted to get on the big potty (of course after I took off his saturated pull-up). He sat there for what seemed like 10 minutes & finally dribbled a little urine in the toilet.
HOORAY!!!!
A John Deere sticker for Griffy!

Oh, and Griffin isn't upset in those pictures. That's him smiling & saying "cheese". Nice.

I have my next OB appointment on Friday, I'll keep you posted.

NEW MOON!!!

Is anyone else super excited to see this again?
Oh Edward, how I've missed you!
& I so look forward to seeing Jacob all grown up....you're almost 18....right?!
& you, missy, you better have worked on your acting skillz.

Less than 2 weeks away!

Hold on Baby---Momma needs to see this movie before you arrive!

Random Happenings of the Week

I saw my OBGYN on Friday afternoon. I'm dilated 1 cm & measuring at 37 weeks. Today I'm actually 36 weeks & 1 day. I realize it could be 4 more weeks until I deliver, but I'm making some progress. This week/weekend we worked our butts off to get ready for the arrival of our baby girl. Griffin helped too. He was warming up the infant carrier & making sure it was comfy for baby. Wow, kinda wish I would have gone with more of a neutral carseat. Now it seems a bit boyish. Oh well, too cheap to purchase a new one. We'll just have to make sure we have lots of girly blankets covering her up when we traveling.
Carseat ready to go--check
Bedding & clothes washed--check
Bottles washed--check
Breast pump out & ready to go--check
Baby bag packed--check
Mommy's bag packed--check
Preregistered at hospital--check
Griffin's big-brother present bought--check
Legs shaved--check (just in case)
Oh, guess what...we've changed the name. I'm incredibly indecisive. I have two fantastic names--we are going to use both of them. One for the first name & one for the middle name. The hardest part has been deciding the order. Griffin helped us with our decision this week, and we're pretty happy with our choice. As you can see, I made another trip to Hobby Lobby & got a 50% off letter "C" & spray painted it lavender.
Griffin felt a little left out, so I redid the letters that were in his baby room with some left over scrapbook paper & hung them in his big-boy room.

Hubs worked hard to clean up our storage area in the basement this weekend. We have all of our Christmas stuff ready to go. I was hoping to get the house ready for Christmas before baby came---just one less thing to do after she arrived....but with 70degree weather, it is hard to even think about Christmas. I did however get some Christmas shopping done this weekend (makes me feel SO good!) Since I cannot fathom putting out Christmas decorations, I'll show you the VERY few fall/Thanksgiving decorations I have on display.
The front entry:
(if you look carefully, you can see little man peering out the window)

I really should have taken a close-up picture of the rug in front of the door--it is COVERED with those nasty stinky beetles that won't seem to die this year!
& the mantel:

When I was pregnant with Griffin I took all kinds of pictures of my belly---today I finally took a picture of my bare belly with baby girl. I will NOT be showing that picture, but here is one of me 36weeks & 1 day fully clothed. & If I hear one more person tell me HOW BIG I AM, I'll punch them! Listen, I know I'm large. You don't have to point it out. Come January, I'll be joining Weight Watchers, but for now, let me eat my Big Mac & pan of brownies!
The hardest part of this delivery will be doing it knowing that Griffin won't be able to come see his baby sister in the hospital. With the H1N1 crisis, no one under 18 years of age is allowed in patient care areas. He won't know the difference, but I will. I really wanted the picture of Mommy, Daddy, Griffin & Baby all sitting in the hospital bed. Oh well. I'll have to get over it.
Today Rachel's sister threw a beautiful family baby shower for Rach. I should have taken more pictures---it was ADORABLE! Here is a picture of Hubs' side of the family.

& here's a picture of the happy expecting couple! We're SO excited for the cousins to grow up together. January will be here before they know it!!!
